What a tremendous beginning to the New Year! We are at a new beginning for our nation – a reset back to our original founding documents as a reminder of who we were meant to be: One Nation Under God. We are to be a people with ethics, integrity, common sense and faith in the Lord to guide us in our decisions and actions. How refreshing, after years of being led by people with a different agenda. National pride is a good thing, balanced with the characteristics I mentioned above.
President Trump has vision for America and the changes that are necessary, but I want to remind you that although he is now the leader of our nation, he cannot do it alone. We must join together in picking up our responsibilities as citizens who are to be involved in strengthening our nation from the ground up – in our families and our communities. This is the year for electing school board members and local officials. What will your role be? Consider running for a position on a town or city council or board in our community, or perhaps a school board seat. Although many of our current school board members are firm believers in DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) and even “gender affirming care”, people are beginning to realize the harm caused by these influences. Perhaps you could be the start of changing course right here for the sake of our children. It could begin now! If you have the courage to try, we as individual members of BHRW will support you, since BHRW as an organization is not allowed to give money to candidates. Whether you run for office, support conservative candidates who are ready to take the plunge, have ideas or vision to build a path for success, or perhaps most importantly, pray for those who want to try, I encourage you to do your part, whatever that may be. America needs you! It’s fitting that February’s speaker will share his expert knowledge of the Constitution with us, and remind us of our freedoms and founding principles. Consider attending our Member Lunch on February 20th to hear his interesting presentation. Watch for your invitation in early February and bring a friend with you! I look forward to seeing you soon and hearing your thoughts, Elaine Woods BHRW President

Welcome to another exciting month of news, updates and activities!
New Starting Time, Beginning February 15th - 11:00 AM Our first update involves an adjustment in the time we can enter the restaurant, as The Old Spaghetti Factory has changed their opening time. They will be opening their doors for us at 11:00, rather than 10:45. This will slightly cut short our time for mingling before the meeting, as we still want to value your time, and will begin our meeting again at 11:15. It will help to speed up the line if you’re able to both RSVP and pay online ahead of time, so that those working at the door can be quick and efficient in checking you in. Thank you so much for your co-operation as we adjust to the changes at our new restaurant! They have been very accommodating for us, and they appreciate our business. A Big Thank you for Our Speakers Last Month! Thank you Christina Buehler, for introducing us to your new Free Oregon Super PAC! It sounds like there are many possibilities for connecting with others for trainings, discussions and many kinds of events. I hope we can arrange a time for a bit of hands on coaching – I am one of those who are not extremely savvy with technology, and would like to be able to embrace and participate in all you have planned for your PAC. Thank you also, Kim Rice for introducing our members who are not currently Precinct Committee People to the great value in this position. This is definitely the Grassroots level of influence, as it increases the effectiveness of our voices as we elect those we want as our local leaders. You will hear more about this later! Membership Coffee Thursday, February 8th at 10 AM. Do you have a friend who may be interested in joining BHRW? If so, invite them to attend this time of “Casual Coffee & Conversation”! It’s a good time for people to ask questions, learn about who we are and what we do, and decide if they would like to join us! To make sure they’re on the list, please email Gail at [email protected] or call her at (503)730-0164. February 15th Speaker, Please join us... Plan to attend our next membership meeting and listen to Donna Kreitzberg’s, Education Freedom for Oregon explanation of the importance of her two Statewide Educational Initiative Petitions, which we hope to get on the November 5th ballot! These changes can greatly improve the educational possibilities for our children and grandchildren! Come and learn, and find out what you can do to help! Watch for the announcement and RSVP invitation for our Membership Luncheon – there is much more I could tell you about, but you’ll just need to come, enjoy new friends and old, as you listen and hear the news fresh for yourselves!
