The November elections are behind us and, boy, what a beating!
Our goal is to get Republicans elected. How proud I am two BHRW members ran for State House Districts: Dorothy Merritt and Elizabeth Reyes. Running for elective office is a tough, uphill climb. Our members ran honest and heartfelt campaigns. They can be proud of their efforts to represent Republican values.
And yet I wonder what BHRW could have done differently to make a difference in all the Republican campaigns? We invited Republican candidates to all our meetings. They spoke about their campaigns and identified how we could help. Other speakers informed us about ballot measures. Our members hosted Meet & Greets for our members running for office. Many of you worked directly in campaigns and ballot measures. Thank you for all you did!
Maybe all told, we need to find more effective ways to reach others. How do we build a base of support to elect Republicans? BHRW needs to stay in the fight but do things differently for better results. I commit to working with the membership, OFRW and NFRW for ideas for success. The County and State Republican Party and community leaders can help us prepare for a more successful 2020.
On the upside, BHRW had a GREAT 2018! Not only have we reached the 60+-member mark, we expanded our activities to include:
BHRW is now one of the largest clubs in the state! What a joy to have you here!
